While some electronic payment gateways off a few options in the AVS technique, the QuantumGateway takes it further. In the Virtual Terminal, you can choose various ways to accept the credit card. The QuantumGateway will convert the transaction to a sale if it passes the choices you choose, otherwise the transaction is only authorized, allowing you to scrub the transaction more. Once you have verified the transaction, the Virtual Terminal will allow you to complete the transaction.
Some electronic payment gateways require the merchant to parse the response from the gateway, and even then, it will only tell you if the street number of the address and the ZIP code matches. The QuantumGateway makes it much easier for the merchant to vet the transaction. You can use the options to help to reduce fraud and chargebacks.
Along with the AVS settings above, the merchant can also customize the CCV2 / CVC2 / CAV2 / CID settings in the Virtual Terminal. The CCV2 / CVC2 / CAV2 / CID was the second line of the scrubbing technique, since merchants are prohibited from storing this number in their databases. However, these days, this number is not as secure as it once was, and should be used in conjunction with other vetting procedures offered by the QuantumGateway.
The two options should be your first line of defense in helping to prevent fraud. However, they should not be solely relied on. Consumers can mis-type, and one digit off can cause that part of the process to fail.
